“brings together a compilation of Lucian Freud’s graphic work selected with the assistance of the late artist”
Lucian Freud Drawings brings together a compilation of Lucian Freud’s graphic work selected with the assistance of the late artist. Beginning in the 1940s and spanning the artist’s career, this densely illustrated volume, features a number of the works never before exhibited or reproduced.
Distinguished writer and art critic William Feaver presents works that range from intimate portraits to landscapes and studies of animals. Etchings, watercolours, gouaches and works rendered in chalk, charcoal, pastel, conté, and pen and ink, are to be interspersed with oil paintings, constantly interrelating.
This publication is produced in association with Blain|Southern, London and Acquavella Galleries, New York to coincide with the exhibition Lucian Freud: Drawings in 2012.
