This exhibition catalogue was published to accompany the exhibition GEORG BASELITZ: DEVOTION held at Alan Cristea Gallery in 2019. The publication features an introduction by Alan Cristea and an essay by Georg Baselitz in both German and English.

Devotion was the first major exhibition of prints by German artist Georg Baselitz (b. 1938) to be presented in the UK in over 25 years. The exhibition, on display from 16 May to 22 June 2019, featured 32 etchings based on self-portraits of artists that Baselitz admires or is influenced by, including Frank Auerbach, Cecily Brown, Tracey Emin, Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Joan Mitchell, Robert Rauschenberg, Mark Rothko and Andy Warhol, amongst others. This selection of both Baselitz’s predecessors and peers offers us an insight into the mind of the artist; each self-portrait has been carefully selected and reimagined in Baselitz’s own unique style.
