Zoë Buckman: BLOODWORK, a catalogue produced in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name, on show 2 September - 1 October 2022 at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery. This book features an essay by Hettie Judah and is designed by Joe Hales and Sam Eccles.
Buckman's first solo show, BLOODWORK, focuses on portraits of survivors, whether those of sexual assault, miscarriage, illness or persecution, and their radical embracement of joy in the face of such adversity. Converting her own writing and the photographs of her close circle into embroidered portraits and fabric swatches, Buckman advocates for healing through inter-generational sisterhood and the divine feminine.
