Artist: Tatsuo Miyajima
Lisson Gallery New York presents Tatsuo Miyajima’s first solo exhibition in the US in over five years. Renowned for his spiritually resonant, technology-driven art, Miyajima employs LED counters in mesmerising installations that reflect on time, continuity, and Buddhist philosophy. Since the 1980s, his works have explored cycles of life and death, symbolised by sequences of numbers from 1 to 9—deliberately omitting zero to reject finality. Rooted in his guiding principles, “Keep Changing,” “Connect with Everything,” “Continue Forever,” this exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of existence, the passage of time, and the infinite universe.
