Soojin Kang (b. 1978, Seoul) lives and works in Kulmbach, Germany. Kang received an MA in Textiles from Central Saint Martins in 2009 and her practice explores the sculptural potential of woven materials. Using natural dyes and hand spun yarns, Kang experiments with the evocative power of fibres. Her practice explores the interplay between softness and rigidity, combining textile and concrete to create sculptures that blur the boundaries between the organic and the industrial, juxtaposing the warmth of handmade materials with the weight of architectural permanence.
