Stephen Friedman Gallery presents an exhibition by two pioneering women artists, bringing together historical and recent paintings by Caroline Coon (British, b. 1945) with new ceramics by Francesca DiMattio (American, b. 1981). The exhibition is an intergenerational dialogue, exploring the ways these artists challenge conventional representations of womanhood. Defying binaries of male and female, animal and human, ancient and modern, the works resist categorisation and demand new ways of thinking.
