Founded in 2007 by Hélène Bailly Marcilhac, the HELENE BAILLY gallery specializes in Impressionist, Modern, and Post-War art. Renowned for its scholarly approach and commitment to presenting museum-quality works, the gallery fosters dialogues between artistic movements and historical periods. With a particular focus on artists such as Edgar Degas, Albert Marquet, Kees van Dongen, Pablo Picasso, Francis Picabia, Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Victor Brauner, Alberto and Diego Giacometti, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne, Françoise Gilot, and Manuel Cargaleiro, among others, it offers a carefully curated selection of major artworks.
Located at 71, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the gallery publishes academic catalogs for each of its exhibitions, featuring contributions from leading art historians. It also plays an active role in research and documentation of major artists, contributing to Catalogues Raisonnés, notably those of Léon Pourtau and Henri Delavallée, while currently conducting research on Francis Picabia.
Deeply embedded in the institutional and academic art world, the gallery collaborates with museums and foundations to facilitate acquisitions, loans, and research initiatives. Recent partnerships include the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, the Fondation de l’Hermitage, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, and the Museum Singer Laren in the Netherlands.
