7 Tilney Court, EC1V 9BQ Ekta Bagri: Faces of Flame
Wed-Sat 12-6pm & by appointment
Artist: Ekta Bagri
Ruup & Form presents Faces of Flame by Ekta Bagri (B 2000, India), an Oxford-based ceramic artist and researcher. She holds a BA in Fine Art and History of Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, and an MA in Ceramics & Glass from the Royal College of Art, and is currently pursuing an MSc in Archaeology of Asian Ceramics at Oxford. Her work focuses on sustainability, ingeniously incorporating unconventional materials such as pallet wood and agricultural by-products into her ceramic creations.
Faces of Flame explores ceramics as both an artistic expression and a platform for environmental advocacy.
To reconsider the value of materials typically seen as waste and to reflect on the broader implications of our consumption patterns, by blending traditional techniques with modern sustainability challenges, Bagri bridges the gap between the two by transforming waste into art, positioning herself as a forward-thinking figure in contemporary ceramics.
